PO TEHNOROS to supply a special overhead travelling crane for Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works

22 January, 2024

The overhead electric special crane KMEST 140+32-26-A7, U2 with a lifting capacity of 140 tonnes on the main hoist and 32 tonnes on the auxiliary hoist will be used in the BOF department of Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works oxygen converter shop.

The crane will be involved in the removal, transport and installation of used and newly equipped steel ladles
(KS-380), including ladle rolling for repair and technological operations.

A distinctive feature of this crane is its special weighing system with integrated positioning function, the purpose of which is to determine the location of the bucket and its weight in real time. The applied software allows processing of the received information directly on the crane, with its subsequent transfer to the general shop floor accounting system and data storage.

To protect from direct thermal radiation under the metal structure of the load beam, control cabin and electrical equipment cabin there is a thermal protection in the form of a reflective screen.

The design of all crane units allows for the replacement of failed equipment without dismantling large steel structures.

PO TEHNOROS has extensive experience in designing, manufacturing and supplying various types of foundry and special cranes for the metallurgical industry.
