The Polar Division of MMC Norilsk Nickel commissioned a "Kirovets" gantry crane.

The new gantry crane KPP 20(32)-30(20)-10.5K-A5, HL1 "Kirovets" with the lifting capacity of 32 tonnes is designed to work with a hook and is used for transshipment of piece goods. 
This crane is manufactured in climatic version HL of placement category 1 and is designed for operation at ambient air temperature from -45°С to +40°С.

"Kirovets" gantry cranes were designed for operation at ultra-low temperatures (down to -60°C).

At the stage of launching serial production of this crane model, the Leningrad plant Podyemtransmash specially sent its representatives for several years to places with the most severe weather conditions (including Krasnoyarsk Krai, Yakutia and other regions) to observe how the units behave in the harsh conditions of the Siberian winter.

Such a campaign lasted for several years and was held under the name "Polar Crane".
